Talk about an efficient way to allocate your marketing budget, you can’t beat full color, glossy printed door hangers. Why? Because with door hangers (or is it doorhangers) you can save on postage. The flip side of that reality pill is you have to deliver them yourself or pay someone to go door to door and hang them for you.
Think of it, your prospect comes home sees a beautiful glossy door hanger hanging on their door with a an irresistible offer from your company. That offer just separated you from the competition.
Great Idea:
Keep some door hangers printed up and ready to go. That way if wake in the morning and decide business has officially reached a slow spot then send someone out with 1,000 door hangers in the afternoon. This is simple marketing physics…. action causes Reaction. Door hangers can get your phone ringing within hours!
Great Idea #2:
Add a perforated tear away coupon at the bottom of your door hanger.

Printers Tip:
Save money by selecting UV Gloss over AQ. It will be cheaper and be completed faster. And UV gloss door hangers look great.
Artwork:
This part is key! We can’t make Chicken Salad from Chicken (well you know). Make sure your photos and logos are high resolution, preferably 300 dpi (Dots per Inch). No PNG or GIF files. They are low resolution files that look great on web, but don’t work in print.
And make sure you submit your art with bleed. Bleed simply means submitting your art 1/4″ larger in width and 1/4″ larger in height than you really need with no copy or graphics near the edges. That way when we make our cut you won’t have a photo or copy cut off. For Example if your card is 4″ x 6″ submit artwork as 4.25″ x 6.25″. Submit as a PDF is best, JPG is OK, but it will go faster if PDF.
And don’t forget to allow space for the door knob whole when designing your art.

Card Stock:
Choose from several stocks 14 point is a very nice premium card stock. 16 Point is nearly the same price and just a little thicker. Another choice for saving a few bucks is 100 # Cover (not to be confused with 100# text) think of it of about 12pt. It is a little thinner than 14 point, but not much.
GO Green:
Prefer Going Green? Cloud 8 Printing will print your project on Green paper at no additional charge (10% post consumer waste and 30% recycled).
Coating:
UV coating is glossier than AQ. UV coating is glossier than AQ, but can actually be cheaper on door hangers. We print many, many more UV door hangers so turnaround is faster than AQ and it often costs less. Spot coating is rarely used, only when you want just a certain “spot” gloss coated.
Color:
Choose one side color, both sides color or Color on Front, black only on back. Price is almost identical so most people stick with color.
Turnaround:
Door hangers take a little longer than other products because we have to make the cut for the hole. Remember the clock doesn’t start until you approve your proof. If you choose no proof it will get into the mix sooner, but we highly recommend a proof as a double check. In hurry? Go with Next day it cost more, but you said you are in hurry. What day is today? Well today is actually tomorrow if you submit after our morning deadline, meaning if you submit on Wednesday in the afternoon it is as if you submitted on Thursday.
Quantity:
Need 250, check out 500. There is often little difference in ordering the next size up.
